  • Policy Coordination

    The directorate initiates and coordinates the development, review and coordination of Procurement policies, strategies and regulations as well as provides technical guidance and support for institutionalization of Strategic Procurement plans and guidelines. The directorate also leads in the design and provision of plans based on a sound framework for the effective implementation of planned programs, projects and activities of Office of the Minister of state in Charge of Public Procurement.

  • Procurement and Capacity Development

    This Directorate is responsible for the review of procurement documents as well as coordinating and providing Procurement Advisory services to public entities and Government as a whole. The Directorate comprises the following units:

           1. Advisory / Technical

           2. Capacity Development / ICT

           A. Advisory / Technical:

    The unit is responsible for the review of Procurement Regulations, Manuals and Guidelines and provide advice as well as ensuring compliance with provisions in the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663) as Amended.

           B. Capacity Development / ICT

    The unit reviews and develops the capacity of procurement professionals in the various entities. It collates the training needs identified through review of procurement contracts and practices in the public sector and makes recommendation for the building of capacity.

  • Finance and Administration

    The Directorate is responsible for managing financial and administrative functions of the Office to ensure that the Office goals and objectives are met.

For the first time in the history of Ghana, the Office of the Minister of State in Charge of Pubic Procurement was created by His Excellency the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo to advise Government on matters relating to Government Procurement and to Formulate Policies and Strategies that align with the vision of the President. He also appointed Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo as the first Minister responsible for the office.
